Cards Officially Welcome Matt Cross

The Louisville men's basketball program has officially announced the addition of former Miami forward Matt Cross, as he has signed a financial aid agreement to play with the Cardinals.

As a freshman last season with the Hurricanes, the 6-foot-7, 225-pound wing was averaging 6.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists through 14 games, and was also shooting 44.9% from the field and a team-best 40.0% on three-point attempts.

Matt appears to be the closest candidate we could find that qualifies as a “Luke Hancock” type contributor. Luke and Matt were both 40% 3 point shooters, and each had a reputation of being able to pass to their teammates. Not aware of what Matt’s reasons were for his departure from Miami, but his brief performance there proves he can compete at ACC level most effectively.
