This was a very good win, but lets keep in mind the Hokies were missing one of their best players who was in a walking boot on the bench. They also don't have a deep bench so they MUST make a high percentage of 3 pointers to win games like last night. The Hokies shot a respectable 37.5% from behind the arc, but when the other team shoots 48.1% while hitting 13, you aren't going to win very often.
For the most part, the Cards did a good job against their defensive pressure. Got sloppy a couple of times but not too bad considering the intensity which VTech plays defense with. I like the way Cunningham controlled the pace of the game and got his team to play within that realm. Last night he played brilliantly. He played 38 minutes and had ONE turnover against that ball pressure and controlled the pace of the game. He was the true MVP last night. He set the table for his teammates to be successful.
Go CARDS!!!!
