Record: 24-29
RPI: 202
vs top 50: 0-0
vs 51-100: 0-10
SOS: 230
Last 10: 7-3
Runs per game: 5.2
Runs allowed: 5.3
According to the numbers Bowling Green State is the 2nd worse team in the NCAA tournament. They are 0-10 vs the RPI top 100 and on average they allow more runs then they score. As a team they have a .277 average and have hit 14 HR's. As a team they have less than 100 extra base hits and they have 416 singles. They will probably try to bunt for hit a lot and bunt when guys get on base as they only have 37 SB's. Offensively they will play a lot like UCONN.
Defensively they are very bad with a .950 fielding percentage. They have made 104 errors in 53 games.
We are facing Mike Frank who is their best pitcher in terms of stuff. He has 77 K in 97 innings and has allowed 82 hits. His opponent batting average is .225. He does have 6 WP, 10 HBP, and 24 walks.
On paper Louisville should come out and not force things and get some good swings off and score some runs and start the weekend off right. Getting that first win while playing well offensively would give the team confidence heading into Saturday with Thompson on the mound. BGSU is playing their best ball of the season, as they won their conference tournament, but Louisville should take care of business if they bring their A game.
