One thing occurred to me last night that going forward I will never, ever doubt again. Without a truly exceptional offensive and defensive front you can forget running the table and surviving a horrible "off night". To have an opportunity to be welcomed into the fraternity of "big boy football" by winning the big games, making the playoffs and accomplishing a goal of becoming a national champion - well, it all begins and ends with line play.
You can slice it and dice it anyway you want, you can have elite skill position players but ultimately you have to have elite lineman on both sides of the ball, PERIOD. If not, well your just flat kidding yourself and pissing in the wind.
Our program, while not having accomplished quite as much as Oregon is very similar to the Ducks IMO. The Duck's great teams have ultimately failed due to not quite having the studs up front and that's where we are at too.
