On the 28th, on line sports betting is legal in Kentucky. It's crazy all the ways you can bet.

I picked the 4 team playoff parlay for $10 and that would pay over 2 grand.

Georgia
Oklahoma
Texas
Penn State

Georgia is in cruise control because Alabama is down. If Georgia doesn't make it, there just may be no SEC teams in the playoff.

The Big 10 comes down to three teams. Michigan has the easiest path. They don't play a ranked team until game 8 against Penn State. OSU has the Irish this week and also plays Penn State and of course Michigan.

The way I see it, Penn State will come out on top of Michigan due to their head to head win over the Wolverines. OSU will be out after losing to Michigan.

The ACC will not have a playoff team. I don't buy FSU or Clemson at all to be ahead of the above mentioned teams. I believe the ACC conference champion will have at least three losses.

The Pac 12 has six ranked teams but three are playoff caliber in USC, Washington and Oregon. Looking at the schedules, I think Washington has the best chance but I could easily see all three with two losses as the conference beats up on each other.

On the other big conference, the Big 12, it looks like a two horse race with Texas and Oklahoma. These two face off in just a couple of weeks, so the loser has to run the table. I'm seeing teams like UCF, BYU, Houston and Oklahoma State making it easier than prior seasons.

I can see Texas and Oklahoma having just the one loss and both making the playoff, upsetting fans and pundits alike for two loss teams like USC, Michigan.

And Notre Dame's schedule is just too difficult but if they do lose just one game, they would get in over a Big 12 team.

So I'm going to place a bet on the 28th. Probably be totally off but its fun to follow the season in anticipation of it actually happening. I put Louisville in the playoff over Oklahoma and my $10 bet pays over four grand.

Now that would be a awesome Christmas present. 🎁

I’m also seriously considering making a bet on or little after the 28th. I do have a question, what is parlay and how does it work if I do a parlay?

Parlay is a group of bets.

You pick Louisville-14 and Ole Miss +7 and that's a two contest parlay. Add a 3rd contest and its a three contest parlay and so on...

Your possible winnings go up the more contests you have in your parlay. You can place single bets on just a single game if you want. Most people like parlays because they can pay off very well.

I'm picking at 4 contest parlay for fun because I can't bet yet.

Louisville-14 (BC)
Oklahoma-14.5 (Cincinnati)
Washington State +3 (Oregon st)
Georgia Tech +4 (Wake)

A $10 bet on this 4 contest parlay would pay $288.

You have a betting slip where you can choose what the different payoffs would be with different amounts wagered.

I have DraftKings Sportsbook and Fandual Sportsbook, and there's plenty more to choose from.

Question from someone who knows next to nothing about bettin. If you parlay several bets, and you miss one do you lose all of your payouts with a parlay?

You can download the app, create an account and makes picks now. You just can't bet yet. You can practice, experiment. See what you like. You may not want to parlay. You may want to bet on just one game. There's all kinds of ways to bet.

So I can create an account now and make picks for this weekend games, but it’s just for practice (since Kentucky online betting isn’t live till the 28th) correct? Also, I’ve got a code, but can’t use it till 28th right?

Yes, you can pick all kinds of bets but when you click make bet, a message will arrive explaining there's no legal betting in your state.

Tonight, I made an one game pick on the Wisconsin/Purdue game. You can make parlays using many different betting categories from one game.

My parlay was for two bets. There was the line on the game and the over/under total points. A $20 bet would pay $110.

Its right there on a betting slip on my screen. I can add and subtract how much I will bet and see what the payouts will be.

Then click the place bet button. But I don't because it's not the 28th yet.

So what you can do is pick a bunch of bets pretending like you can bet now. Write them down and see how you do when the games start. You're practicing.

Betting the combination of games is what the HOUSE used to refer to as the “sucker’s bet”. The odds of winning drop significantly as you increase the number of games, and you must win them all in order to collect. Admittedly, that is a lot more fun, and serves as the difference between betting for entertainment, versus becoming a gambleholic.

It's like betting a horse to win one race or a Daily Double instead...or an Exacta, Trifecta, or Superfecta within a race.

Let’s hope that one ND loss is to UofL!

A couple of questions, do you pay a 10% juice on all loses, and does the state or betting company automatically deduct taxes on winning bets?
