I think we’ll see the best basketball played and our best version of a team in Feb. obviously the injuries have significantly changed the landscape, but I think this group can be productive down the stretch.
We’re going to win a few we shouldn’t, and lose 1-2 we shouldnt between now and then. If Kelsey gets us to the tourney he deserves COY awards. Shooting will improve. Large portion of our poor % is shot selection; we rush and take bad shots. As guys learn to play at this pace and make the extra pass, shots will fall and that changes everything.
All that said, Lexington is a terrible matchup for us. I think we’ll be competitive and play hard till the end which hasn’t been the case the last several years. It’ll prob end up being a 15-17pt game, although the final score won’t be indicative of the performance. We’ll keep it close in 1st half and they’ll build a lead in the 2H that we can’t overcome. It’ll stretch out in the last few mins.
We have the right guy leading though. Just need to stay on board and give him another year or 2.
