Clemson fan here wondering what your away section is in your stadium? Are there any away seats lower deck or are they all upper?

Being a young alumni and only a second year donor i wasn't even close to meeting the requirements to buy tickets to this game through IPTAY, so i'm trying to find some second hand.

Also, I'm sticking around through the weekend so i decided to book a room at the embassy suites down town bc its right near 4th street live and seems like a cool place to hang out. My question is, how difficult is it going to be to get to and from the game? I dont really have much of a game plan as from as tailgating goes, I'm flying up so i wont have a car, i was just planning on waking up thursday checking out DT for a little bit then finding a cool bar to hang out in before making my way towards the stadium to see what yalls tailgating scene is all about.

I'm hoping to just be able to take a cab or uber or bus from downtown to the stadium and then back after the game.

First, welcome to The Ville!

The visiting fan sections are at the northeast corner of the stadium, both lower and upper. Those upper seats are in the stadium expansion and pretty high. We have ten thousand or so fans up there, but I hope you can score lowers. As far as field location, they would be considered sideline from about the north ten-yard line into the endzone. I've sat in worse seats at away games.

The good news is they're all chairbacks! Molded plastic that will rank among the better seats you've had for what you're paying.

Since I'm at least a generation older than you, I'll leave the extracurricular advice to your U of L counterparts. But have a good time on your visit, and I hope we show you the hospitality your fans did on our visit to Clemson last year...

And don't be surprised if someone offers you a ride to and from the game. CARDS fans are very gracious to teams not name wildcats and mountaineers because of their action on and off the field. The bars are numerous so you can't go wrong. I prefer the Sports and Social Club on 4th St. live. Once your tailgaiting the beer and the bourbon flows....... Just enjoy yourselves, play cornhole and drink. Also if you like to get in the stadium early. You can go up to the party deck. All beer is half price till right at game time. Hope I have helped!

If you leave downtown early enough you shouldn't have too much trouble getting to the game. Downtown is little over three miles north of the stadium. You won't have any trouble finding a cab downtown. Don't wait too long because Thursday night games are the worst nights for traffic in the area around the stadium. So get there early. Getting back downtown after the game will be the issue. There aren't any cabs that I am aware of around after the games. There are city buses that run north on Second Street (into downtown) but I don't know where you can catch one near the stadium. Plus I don't know how easy it will be to get an uber ride after the game as traffic will make it difficult for them to get into the area around the stadium. I would suggest hooking up with someone from Clemson who is returning to the downtown hotels after the game. There should be plenty if Clemson sold out it's ticket allotment as I believe there are 5,000 visitor seats in the stadium and most of the large hotels are downtown.

As far as the tickets go you won't have any problems sitting outside of the visitor sections as long as you are not obnoxious. If you are anything like the Clemson fans I encountered last year you are not obnoxious in any sense of the word. There is good-natured back and forth between fans of opposing schools (except UK and WVU) but nothing that will prevent you from feeling comfortable cheering for your team.

Have a great trip.

It's true that you are really, really, really, really, really, really old, zipp. ;-)

Uber for sure. Easy trip, $10-15 tops. St. Matthews for bars afterwards. I would avoid 4th St Live for late night (not because of any particular concerns, just because I don't think it's a college scene.)

St Matthews is unlikely to be much fun that late on a Thursday night. Go back to 4th St Live. St Matthews for one of the weekend night for certain. Also, Baxter Ave after 11 pm on Fri or Sat as well. We like to have fun around here. Churchill Downs is also running horse races in Sept as well.

You can bus to the game and get off the 4th St line at Central Ave. Walk over the 4 blocks east to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Take a cab or Uber back but you could still check TARC to see if a bus runs that late. More money for drinking that way. :)

You likely won't be the only Clemson fans staying at your hotel. Ask them if they offer a shuttle service to and from the game. Also it is not "that" far from the stadium, I've walked from UofL to downtown a few times before, but I'm not recommending that.
Also 4th Street, main st, and market street have plenty of great places to eat and drink you won't need to leave the downtown area to have a great time.

My guess--and this is purely a hunch since I'm soooooooo old--is that a visiting Clemson fan won't have any trouble finding partygoers that nite if U of L pulls out a win.

Which is kind of a mixed blessing for the Tigers... We'll all roll up the sidewalks and go home if we lose. OTOH, a lotta locals here will miss work the next day--and Clemson fans will be the toast of the town--following a Cards win. If that happens and Clemson fans can keep their spirits up, it may be a night for visiting fans to remember.

So, maybe Clemson fans "win" either way...

Thanks for the responses fellas. I've never been to Louisville i imagine it being like a Charlotte? So it's going to be something completely different for me as far as attending a college football game bc as the ones of you who made the trip to tiger town know, there's nothing there but a college. And I've only ever been to Athens, Allbarn, Blacksburg which are all "college towns". And well I went to tallanasty which is a city but still not nearly as big as Louisville.

Also, I think we will travel pretty well for this game. Being a Thursday kinda hurts. I know I had a lot of buddies who wanted to come but just can't get off work. If it were a Saturday we'd have a lot more orange there but I think it will still be decent. We have some pretty hardcore fans. I'm pretty sure the tickets we got are sold out and there's still people looking for them on the Clemson sites I visit.

PS- I really hope yall can find away to beat Auburn. Their fans are the worst. My buddy got spit on... By a lady.......

FWIW, I'd much rather beat Auburn than Clemson or FSU. Not because I don't care about winning the ACC or because Auburn's a better team. But a win like that would further increase the stature of the ACC, and it would elevate the significance of a Clemson win over U of L. I'd expect Clemson fans to feel the same way.

We're all big ACC fans up this way nowadays...

My kids are all college age and they avoid 4rth street like the plague. Head to St Matthews or the Highlands to hang out, they particularly like Cumberland Brews, really good, cheap beer on weekday nights.

Visiting sections at PJCS are:

Lower bowl (bottom half sections): 101 and 102.
Lower bowl (upper half sections): 201 and 202.
Upper deck: sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Welcome to The Ville!
