Wow WKU and UCONN are surprising. As for Bama being second, complete BS. When your Bama the recruiting base in their state just doesn’t matter, because their recruiting base is the entire U.S.

Sorry, but there is only one school (absent the service academies) that truly recruits nationwide and that is Norte Dame. And I’m NOT a ND fan. Yes, Alabama recruits very well but how many times do they to to the West Coast whereas ND routinely goes all over the USA. Alabama’s base is basically the south.

Well I suggest you checkout their roster. They recruit obviously heavy in AL, but they have numerous guys from CA, they have players from HI, UT, NV, OH, IN, KY, MD, TN, DC, AR,, SC, NC, FL, LA, MS, TX, GA. They hand pick the best from outside AL, so yes at this point Bama uses the country as their recruiting grounds. ND does it out of necessity, whereas Bama hand picks the best.

ND obviously has the Catholic school tie in, so the best players from the Catholic schools nation wide are immediately in the Notre Dame recruiting pipeline.

Notre Dame has legit ties with their fanbase across the nation as do the Service Academies, and BYU. Alabama fans outside of the South are bandwagon. 15 years ago these same Bama fans were USC fans, before that, Florida State fans. Kinda like everyone in the 90s were Atlanta Braves fans. Now everyone seems to be Cubs fans.

Ky basketball fans outside this region are total bandwagon.

Putting this list into perspective, Coach Satterfield had the 98th best job, and took the 31st best job. That's a jump over 67 other jobs. Significant.
