This is in my opinion spot on. I felt this way before last season started, yet I could see the potential offensively which I still do for this upcoming season. If Satterfield would just get out of the way of himself.
But the current recruiting success has got me wondering if a corner has been turned and Satterfield has to be a part of that. If the team wins 8 or more games this season, I think the above opinion from that ACC evaluation will change.

Anonymous? Sorry, but that should make everyone question the accuracy of the story. No need for speculation about UL‘s Head Coach now, when we are just a few weeks from the season starting.
I avoid pre-season prediction on wins/losses, as I maintain that unpredictable events like injuries could affect us and every team on our schedule. For example, what happens if UK’s QB (Levis) is unavailable? UK chances for a win would be reduced significantly, and November is a long way off.

I agree. They are truly cowards for not going on record as the source of their BS. Sounds like these sources want UofL to be a G5 Appie team and for Satt not to grow into the P5 role he is taking the program too his way...and not the Appie way of old.
What worked there is much more difficult and tricky to work at the P5 level, especially following behind a crappy CBP program killer. They sound like they hate CSS and what success he has had in the past will happen at UofL too. Go figure.
These aren’t impartial “sources”. It is assistant coaches from other ACC programs. They do this every year for football and basketball. It’s typical off-season scuttlebutt and should be taken as such.
They are recruiting against us. Of course they are going to put bad stuff out there. “It feels like the end…”. C’mon man!
Can’t wait to win 8 games this year. Talking negative about us while praising teams we smacked on.
If you look through the rest of the league's comments they are a collection of thoughts that would lean towards the cynical on everybody, but I had to laugh at the first comment about Satt being with Collins at Ga Tech as on the hottest seat. Please...that comment had to have been made by either someone on Syracuse or FSU's staffs because if we do to Syracuse in the Carrier Dome what I think we are going to do I doubt Babers sees November as their head coach. Florida State keeps cobbling together offensive lines that most high schools would be worried to put on the field.
I also think Satterfield is more committed to the job than the fanbase overall is committed to him; the pressure on him to get to the FSU game at 2-0 is very real and I'm reasonably sure we haven't seen a sellout or a full stadium since it was expanded. And he can't have the same structure at Louisville as App State; the transfer situations are a College Football wide phenomena that wasn't the case when he was at App State.
The one comment in there I have zero issue with is the one about the defense being blah though it completely ignores Abdullah being Top 10 nationally in TFLs. I'm even skeptical of improvement with Lole coming in because going from DT/DE to NT is something that is uncommon except in situations where there is a scheme change. Deangelo Brown being an example.

True CH, this defense must demonstrate that it has improved early, as well as consistently throughout this coming season.
I will say howeve, I believe that Lole‘s arrival will make a significant improvement in our DL, regardless of whether we scheme with a 3-4, or a 4-3. Those out west believe who saw Lole daily, believe that he is very talented and equally capable of playing inside or outside …… not sure we have seen that level of versatility here before,

I'm sure this has been posted on this site elsewhere, but we're 3-4 point favorites in Game One against a program that most U of L fans view as vastly inferior. Like it or not, we're being told that's basically a pick 'em game that wouldn't surprise anyone outside of Louisville if we lost.
So I don't see or hear much in the way of outside assessments of our own football program that are wildly inconsistent. Four years into Satterfield's tenure, we're a middle-of-the-pack team with a lot of issues until we prove otherwise...
I think you’ll see the spread move in our favor.
But you are right in how it’s viewed. We did dominate them last year, but then we fizzled out late in the year.
We have questions on defense. Lost 2 key wideouts to transfer. And as good as we know we are from seeing it up close, the national audience hasn’t really seen proof we have a great offensive line.
Generally they know we have Malik Cunningham. The game is on the road too. That dome is a weird place and it’s week 1. Playing that Cuse offense week 1 would be a test for any defense, especially our unit who as of now cannot be counted on for anything until we see proof.
Cuse wasn’t as awful last year. An up and down year with some bad luck. I think we win by 20, but it’s not a walk in the park.
Spread has already moved 2 points depending on where you bet. It will move another 2 by game day. No money is going in Syracuse’s favor. Vegas is going to try to correct that.
Home teams (Cuse) get roughly a 3 point bump simply for being at home. That would mean the books think UofL is a touchdown favorite.

I wish we were playing Syracuse later in the year like last year, after their season has beaten them down. You just never know what can happen in a road opener. I think that's why the point spread is where it is right now. If this game were in late October we'd be bigger favorites.
O/U where I bet is 58. I don’t like betting O/U’s in week 1. I’d probably take the under though if I had to. A score of 38-20 breaks even. I don’t trust Syracuse to score 20. Also I assume they are going to trying running the clock with their run game to keep the ball out of MC’s hands.

It is too easy to scheme against Louisville. I thought it was a talent issue but in year 4 these issues go much deeper.
