Your memory is correct. The Cards actually looked a little better, at least in terms of effort, early in that game. It fell apart with in-fighting, lack of caring, etc.
 
I just finished watching the YouTube replay of Petrino’s first game as the Cards head coach against UK in 2003. Hard to believe that guy was related to the sorry mess of 2018.
