That's a surprise. Seemed to me the four letter network was all about the dramatic politicizing of the UofL scandal.
Now they want to blast the NCAA? OK.
I believe you may see the major conferences split from the NCAA. The NCAA is becoming as worthless as the AAU did!
I’m a UK fan and I’m on your side. This is grossly unfair and inconsistent with the UNC ruling. It hurts the City of Louisville brand and the NCAA are a bunch of hypocrites .
Keep in mind these are independent reporters on Around The Horn and one was from Louisville.
Believe it or not, I just read from Kentucky basketball fan site on Facebook with the news from today. It had 430+ responses. I’d say 85% were blasting the NCAA. After what they let UNC walk with people do not trust them.
The UNC scandal started under SAINT Dean Smith. The first few years the only players in the fake classes were his players. UNC and Dean couldn’t win like he was used to once Jimmy V and Coach K started winning big. He needed athletes. He got them. He got all the praise for graduating 96% of his players. “The Carolina Way”.
Most consider the penalty far out of line. We all Are Kentuckians.
Once the Adidas penalty possibly hits it might as well be the death penalty. Louisville should have fought and sued the NCAA.
Most UK fans I’ve interacted with also see this as over the top grandstanding by the NCAA.
I’m sure that a lot are laughing behind the scenes at our situation (as would most of us if it were reversed) but you’d have to have the mind of a child to not be disturbed by the overreach of a bunch of A-holes who skirted their responsibilities with more notable offenders in the past, only to make a statement now.
That statement is and will be devastating to a lot of really good young men and hard working people. As a fan, I’ll be fine but it’s not about me today.
