The Espn announcers had an influence on the Home Run Review? The reason I asked is when the announcers first started looking at it they seemed to be leaning toward a foul ball because you never lose sight of the ball behind the pole, which from the angle they were showing you would have had it been fair. Then one of them(ROXY) said it might of hit the pole and then they seem to convince themselves it hit the pole.

The reason I ask is they said the review committee "Confirmed" the home run meaning the reply conclusively showed it was a home run. The announcers later confirmed that the review committee only saw the same shots that we the viewers saw. I suspect they probably heard the announcers commentary also.

In my opinion, unless you believe the ball hit the pole the replays seem to indicate the ball was foul. I was not surprised that they did not overturn the call. In all honesty I could not tell if the ball hit the pole or not. But I'm wondering if the "Hit the Pole Theory" had not been tossed out there if the outcome would have been different.

One other thing, during the review the umpire that originally had the headphones on and was talking to the review committee gave them to the Umpire that made the call. I wonder if they asked him if he saw it hit the pole?
