I have read bits and pieces about the 3rd base coach pulling some kind of crap before Rogers did what he did. Also read that the 3rd base coach was ready to assault him.

Does anybody have the full story?

Not expressly. But it's poor form (see Patriots spy-gate scandal for one example). And it certainly excuses the reaction Rogers had toward the coach.
Thanks did not know this. As a kid we took advance all we could. Did not know it had changed.

It is not illegal to steal signs in baseball... it is an age-old tactic in all sports. What is illegal is recording signs and practices (what the Pats did). I don't think this excuses Rogers, no matter what the other coach did or said, you have to keep your cool and your head in the game.

That being said, it's been a great season, Cards and Rogers will be back stronger next year.

I agree with Money Card, if your stealing signs and you get caught don't whine when somebody calls you on it. If this is what happened I don't blame Rogers for being pumped and calling him out.

He's a doofus. Just change your signs. I'm not sure if what he did cost U of L a trip to Omaha, but it sure fired up the other dugout.

Playing in the Cape Cod doesn't mean that he is coming back, but it would make sense. He could be a early round pick next year.

Whatever the issue was, it caused Rogers and the Cards to lose focus and consequently the game, so the advantage went to CSF. Who knows this could have gone back to the earlier game in the season when Josh lost his first game.

Stealing signs is frowned upon but teams and players still do it. Some guys don't want to know what the upcoming pitch is. If you're caught don't complain if someone on your team gets a fastball in the earhole. Stealing signs is overrated.

Stealing signs is part of the game... as long as it is in the game. You don't want your signs stolen, mask them better.
