Satterfield said Conley got all the reps with the ones during the bye week. He said Malik was able to practice in cleats on Sunday, and that if he makes as much progress this week as he did the week before the FSU game that he will definitely be able to go against BC.
For Puma he said he was at practice on Sunday throwing, but he wasn’t in cleats like Malik. He’s further along in his recovery than he was before the FSU game.
Essentially, the report was that all three QBs are more ready to go against BC than they were for FSU. Malik is the likely starter, with Conley the likely backup (and more ready to step in due to all the additional reps). If Puma can practice fully beginning tomorrow, then perhaps he can make a case to be #2 ahead of Conley.
Coach Satterfield is very careful not to say what I just said about the Malik versus Puma controversy ... but I’m just going to state it like I see it: Malik is our #1 QB when he’s healthy.
