As of right now, our roster is:

El Ellis
Hercy Miller
Mike James
Devin Ree
Kamari Lands
JJ Traynor
Jaylen Withers
Rose Wheeler
BHH
Sydney Curry

Wondering if we’re still getting Fabio Basili, and or another guard? Haven’t really heard anything as of late.

No new information about Fabio yet.

Sounds like CKP might play Ellis and James as the PG and SG. With Ree and Lands playing some time also at SG.

The walk on guards: Miller, McCool, and Zan Payne may also get minutes at guard but there is a very real concern over the lack of a good PG/facilitator right now. Who will back up Ellis for injury, foul trouble, etc.?

I forgot all about Zan Payne. But yeah, it’s concerning the lack of guard depth and true floor general. Hopefully Ellis can transform into that. If we don’t nab another decent guard…he’s going to be playing heavy heavy minutes.

Other than being the HC's son....does anyone know how good Zan Payne is???

Can he contribute at all??? Anyone???

And who is McCool?

Zan Payne, the son of UofL’s head coach, committed to play for his father at Kentucky in 2018 after playing his high school ball at Lexington Catholic. In four years with the Wildcats, Payne saw mop-up duty in 11 games. He will have two years of eligibility left after a redshirt season and a “free” COVID year.

Aidan McCool, a transfer from Maryland, has had a similar career to Payne, coming off the bench when games were out-of-hand for the Terps.

Mike James said not to worry about our guard situation. he said people can play multiple positions. I think Kamari Lands is able to bring the ball up.
