Angel Nunez to transfer from Gonzaga

I thought this was interesting with all the transfer talk.
That young man has a boat load of potential. I wish he could have made it work at UofL. I really think he could have helped the Cards this past season. He has to be thinking about a D2 program so he doesn't have to sit out another year. Good luck to the young man.

One thing I am getting a little tired of as far as recruiting... Rail-thin, 6-foot 6-inch kids coming in who are going to be the next Francisco Garcia.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't want another kid who looks like that. And I'll make that point if I hear the comparison again...

That's one area that just seems strange with some of our past recruiting. I just don't see how a rail-thin guy can play the type of defense that Pitino wants to play, especially in elite leagues like the former Big East or ACC.

The problem is most 6-6 eighteen year olds are rail thin. If their not they either play football or are 5 star basketball players and end up at uk and Duke. Pitino recruits on potential but not all of them are willing to put in the work as Cisco did.

Angel should come back to Louisville...and play for Bellarmine. Immediate eligibility and play for a very good program!

Im sure that's an option he is weighing. If not then I agree with you, he should be.

Plenty of Rail-Thin guys playing at the highest level. Steph Curry was super thin in college as well as Dixon from Maryland grated both were guards but still. As far as SF that have been extremely frail but high on talent and work ethic....Tashaun Prince-I never thought this guy would make it into the NBA because of his size or lack there of. I think while at UK he even played a little stretch 4 because of his height. When it comes to guys and being thin I think it comes down to competitive FIRE. You need a kid that is fearless and work ethic to work on their game so that their size is less a liability because of other things they do well.

Yeah, but if Rick stopped recruitng those types then we wouldn't be able to hear his incessant wailing of "He's not strong enough yet. We've got to put some muscle on him. Needs to get more serious in the weight room." Blah, blah, blah.
