Altercation with UNC fan

Surprised Pitino would be so upset about someone saying "you suck" although he appeared to wound tighter than a snare drum. That being said I have no problem with him going back at the fan. Just the same, I had no problem with him flicking off the obnoxious UK fans a couple years ago. Just because you bought a ticket, it doesn't entitle you to say whatever you want, especially if you are an adult.

I don't care one way or the other because nobody got physically hurt. With that stated, the poor sap who opened his yap got escorted out of the building so I'm sure he's not all that happy with how it turned out for him. LOL. Cost him some money not to see the second half.

The word is the fan made a disparaging remark about Anas to Pitino. "Terrorist" or "towel head" were both allegedly said. Pitino hears "you suck" often enough he's probably immune to it.

If a reporter heard what happened I am sure he will print it and you will be able to post his article for us. Instead of waiting why don't you give us the name of the reporter so we can reach out and find out first hand.

The sad thing for that fan was he was about 42 years old not some young college student who is forgiven because of his age. He missed the 2nd half of a good game and everybody saw his " deer in the headlights " look.

One does not get kicked out of a game for simply saying "you suck." Definitely more to it.

Total. He turned his back to act as if he was trying to hide after Rick yelled back, then the look of guilt on his face as he's escorted out. He knew he crossed the line. And he certainly did not anticipate Rick's reaction.

They had been riding him hard all night long and being very disrespectful. They didn't even announce him as the head coach of the Cards before the game. So, I think he was just frustrated by the entire night to that point and had had enough.

I wasn't really paying attention when it happened I just saw the fans all jump up and start yelling at coach. Then he went into the tunnel. I didn't hear anything. It was about 10 rows ahead of me. The point is they were rough on him the whole night. It's really nothing different for him though.

Just responding to the UK troll... I know you want to believe that Pitino is some stupid hothead that is easily set off. But we're talking about a guy who regularly has had to listen to chants of "Karen Sypher" at games. There is no way "You suck!" is going to phase this guy. The UNC fan had to have said something more.

Also, it's silly to think a fan would get ejected for "You suck!" Just not realistic. There had to be more.

ACC maybe not as classy as we thought or do you think our success is scaring them a bit?

I was treated with the utmost respect by all the UNC fans. They actually let me and my UNC friend in the arena 45 minutes before the door opened and made me feel very welcome. They are 10 to 1 better than the Kentucky fans I encountered last year at Rupp. However, they were on Pitino the whole time he was there. They didn't even announce him as Louisville's head coach during introductions before the game.
