Merry Christmas Card Fans, and an Early Happy New Year 2021. As we enjoy these Holidays, in what has to be our Worst Year for the USA since 2001, let us be thankful most of all, for our Faith, Families, & Friends. I am sure many of Cardinal families, have suffered, deaths, illnesses , and economic hardship. For those suffering, and most in need, let us pray to our Creator, that they be comforted. Amen!

Card fans needless to say it's been a weird year of sports. College Basketball falling right in line with the rest of sports, and the world. This crazy year does offer UL Basketball a Real Chance for Redemption. We have been mired in a Slump for the Ages, in our rivalry with that despised team to the East, that shall I not even mention their name.

Its time to fire up the UL Basketball Rivalry Redemption Train UL vs UK! All Aboard!! All Aboard!! Train is warming up on the siding at Corman's Crossing just outside of Bardstown, Ky., in the heart of the sleepy little village of Deatsville! The beautiful White Christmas we had, with the fields & farms covered with the dusting snow, in the background. The First White Christmas Day, in many years. Train is stocked with it's usual Engineer's pick, Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon. Also an ample supply of Budweiser. Train will make the short ride, up thru Bernheim Forest to Bardstown Junction, join the main CSX Tracks ( formerly L&N), all the way up to Downtown Louisville, passing right thru the UL campus on the way!

The Redemption Train leaves the siding for the first time in many years, as a favorite to win the 2020 version of the Dream Game. Cards coming off a bounce back league win on the road, against what appeared to be an over matched, and out coached Pitt squad. Cards still hampered by some key pieces of the team sidelined. However they do have 3 Solid Veteran players in Johnson, Williamson, and Jones. They will make the difference. They would appear to have a solid advantage in the backcourt. Again the first time the Cards can claim that, against the Team, whose name I will not mention. The rest of the role players UL has, are now all Mack's guys. Being in his system since they arrived on campus. They should have a solid understanding of Mack's Pack Line Defense. This another solid advantage. Couple that with playing at home, and this has the potential a fun Train Ride on what truly will be UL Basketball Redemption Train.

Our opponents, the team whose name I will not mention, comes in with a 5 game losing streak. It's worse start in over 50 years. Some the loses have come against some solid competition, other losses against some teams that are below average at best. Danger Zone Card Fans! Why you say? This Team with No Name is a wounded animal. A wounded animal we all know, fights until you deliver a death blow. They are very young, and do have talent. However they have not come together as a Team. They have been riddled with internal issues, but more importantly, do not have the kinda of talent in the backcourt, as they have in the past. Nor do they any solid veteran leadership. In order for the Cards to win this game, is has to deliver that death blow, at some point in the game. That 15 to 5 type run, that will seal a Cards win.

Cards Pack Line Defense will give the Team whose name I will not mention fits, especially in the backcourt. This will be a not high scoring game. I look for the Cards to deliver that 10 point death blow, and get a win by a score of 70 to 62. Cards win a hard fought fight, simply because they have the better team. Really do not see that changing, as the season progresses either. The Team with no name will be sent reeling into disarray into the SEC season. Where the are destined to a Mid Pack type finish this. Cards however take a Redemption Train Win into ACC play with some serious MoJo. They should have a solid Top 4 type season in the ACC. Why, because they got the Monkey called Calamari, off their back! All Board!! All Aboard ! The UL Basketball Rivalry Redemption Train!!
