All Aboard! All Aboard! 2019 NCAA Cardinal Basketball Redemption Train! Train will not be traveling to Iowa, on the rails as in past years! However will be there via the Big Screen TV on the siding! However the Train we be ready to leave the siding to the Nation's Capital when the Cards secure two wins in Iowa!!
Looking at tomorrow's clash against the Gophers ! That in itself deserves a comment! What kind of school would name their team the Gophers? Just sayin, I realize that it's the North country, and shoot I was born in that area spending my youth in MI, OH, so I understand Big Ten Country! MI has the Wolverines, and WI has Badgers! These are creatures that you do not want to run into in the woods! Gophers however your not afraid of, and would take home as a pet a like a rabbit! The Gophers of Minnesota, ARE NOT feared in the Basketball Kingdom! The Cards will set a trap for the Gophers tomorrow, and will be adding a Gopher's pelt to their collection of wins!
IMO this is a good match up for the Cards. Much like Richard gets concerned about Mich, he will be concerned about UL! Why you say ? This UL team is one like Mich, that can shoot the 3 from all 5 positions! That is a problem for a team that is used to, and plays a grind it out Big Ten game like Minny. They have personnel, and recruit to how their league plays. See WI, NEB, PUR, MSU, PS, etc.. Grind it out, try to Bully your way to a win. Mich is the anti to that type of play in the Big Ten! That is why they have been successful under Coach Bellien in the Big Ten! That said Minny can beat you in a game that is in the 50 -60. They will not be able to beat an offensive minded team, good rebounding team like UL. Also UL is a solid Free Throw shooting team. Minny is not! Couple that with a team like UL that packs their defense on the road trips, and plays a defense ( Pack Line) that Minny does not see in the Big Ten! That my friend is a recipe for a Cardinal win.
Cards cannot , will not, be sucked into a half court game! Need to get up shots quickly crash the boards, for second, third attempts. IMO we have a definite depth advantage, and we need to use that! We want a game that will allow us to score 70 points! Minny has two real threats on offense! Cards on the other hand have multiple players that can score double digits!
