Interesting. There is evidence that the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) has been reactivate in patients with Covid-19. EBV is usually what causes mono. Given the incidence of SARS-CoV-2 in this team, it wouldn't be surprising if AI had Covid-19, leading to infectious mono.

This is pure speculation on my part. Either way, prolonged mono makes more sense than not being good enough.

Hopefully, this will quite down the AI will transfer crowd. I look forward to him seeing the court again and growing into a beast.

EBV can also become chronic. It’s not always just 2-6 week Illness period. It can go dormant and then something sets it off again, such as stress, another virus/bacterial attack, anything that lowers the immune system, like life sometimes. I’m sure he is getting the best of care from UofL docs. There’s still so much about covid sucks that’s still not understood in so many folks.

COVID+Strained Groin+MONO=destroyed season. At least now everyone can leave this poor young man alone. Hope he fully recovers, works hard and improves where he plays some meaningful minutes one day.
