Pitching definitely needs to be the emphasis of the offseason. The offense seems to be there and even with a few losses we should have another potent lineup next season. Louisville was 5-12 against teams in Omaha this year and averaged over 7 runs per game in those 17 games. That run average should equate to a much higher winning % than .295. I mean we scored 24 runs in a 3 game series vs Virginia and got swept because we gave up FORTY-SEVEN runs. At home!
In those 17 games, we gave up an average of 10.29 runs per game- a total of 175 runs against. This includes 5 games giving up over 15 runs, 1 game giving up 20, and 1 game blowing a 7-run lead against Clemson at home.
Pitching, pitching, pitching. First, make sure Zion Rose is paid and happy. Second, spend the rest on quality pitching.
