My blood is no longer boiling. A good night's rest is always a good thing.

My thought on this playoff selection is simply that the weeks leading up to the final release are put in place to set up the finale. The story line of Louisville is HUGE and is the most interesting for the casual fan. It is the team everyone wants into the top 4 but just hangs on the outer edge, constantly being screwed over. The casual fan will tune in for one reason....where is Louisville this week? The casual fan wants Louisville in, so don't think for one second the committee doesn't know this, after all that is what drives media revenue.

Bottom line, the scenario is still the same as it was after we lost to Clemson and lost our control of our own destiny. So let's take a look back and compare it to where we are now.

1) Michigan and/or Ohio State need to lose twice -- this will happen, so check this one off the list
2) Washington needs to take a loss to anyone -- this has happened, so check this one off the list
3) We need to win out -- we are on our way, just have to close it out against Houston and UK

Nothing has changed. It is all still the same path for us to make the final 4.

I know it is tough to swallow and it tests the hell out of our patience, but when it matters, we will be there as long as we win out.

Focus on ourselves, focus on our opponent, and win games. Go Cards.

I like your post, but I slightly disagree regarding Washington. They need to lose another game and finish with 2 losses. If they win out, it will mean they won the PAC 12 championship which means they're a 1 loss team with a conference title. They would leap frog UofL to #4 if UofL finishes with 1 loss as well.

That's fair guys but I don't think Washington leaps us. Considering they do win out and take home the conference championship, they would then be matched up against Alabama. I hate to keep nailing on the casual fan aspect but casual fans would turn that game off after the first quarter because it would be a laugher.

Of course, this is just my take but I don't think Washington leaps us if we win out, no matter what they do.

If this is the case, why didn't the committee spell it out as such in the rules? The copies of the rules I've seen suggest they can consider and assign priority to whatever they want. Nothing about HTH or conference champions are automatic anything. If you have any faith in the system, you'd think they included these provisions to make sure a weak Pac 12 champion wouldn't leap over a statistical juggernaut with one awesome/questionable loss and the Heisman candidate.

I'd bet big money TV ratings are up with Larmar and Louisville in and down with the same old same old.

Well they kind of did. They said the teams 2 thru 6 were very close. Teams 2 thru 6 are all the 1 loss teams. A conference champ team versus a non conference champ team with both having 1 loss might just be enough for Washington to leap over the Cards to the top 4. It's all subjective AND the committee can be subjective too.

Washington State will have an opportunity to take care of Washington for us. Washington State is undefeated in the PAC 12 and if they beat Washington, they will represent their division in the PAC 12 championship.

I've seen Washington play twice now and they didn't impress me either time. I think they are a good team with a good coach but they are not good in the clutch. I think they lose again and maybe twice.

They shouldn't but they will. Colorado and WSU are ranked high now. So if Washington wins out they're in. I'm waiting for a poll that asks what game vs Alabama would you rather see...Washington, Penn St, Wisconsin, OU, WVU, or Louisville. I'm curious to see what the general public thinks.

Washington is ranked behind us at the moment, and you have to assume that's due to our SOS and theirs. The Pac-12 is not respected. What you do not know is how much importance the champ thingy would represent. Will it trump SOS or not? Unless it does, they will not jump us if we both win out...

I have not went and counted, but I heard someone on talk radio this morning say that the Pac-12 has 6 teams in the CFP Top 25 at the moment. I have no idea how many Worshington has played, will play, or has beaten. My expectation is that Worshington is going to lose another game and it won't matter anyway.

It would not surprise me if OSU loses at Michigan State on Saturday. Dantonio is a great coach and it's at home for the Spartans.

We know that Michigan or Ohio State will lose since they have to play each other.

I expect Clemson to lose one of their next 2 or 3 games (WF, USCJr, and/or the ACCCG).

None of those two-loss teams are jumping us. **** them and anyone advocating this, lol.

We need help, but the help is coming, so win and we're in I say.

I am pretty much of the same sentiment. While Washington may wind up as conference champion, they have a home loss late in the season.
