Observations:

-- With most teams getting close to the halfway point of the ACC WBB schedule, we're getting a clear picture of the top eight in conference.. The two surprises to me are that FSU isn't among the top eight and Boston College being in the top eight.

-- Three of the four state of North Carolina schools are in the top eight. Wake is a team I thought might be a little better, with Spear and Morra, and their next six games could very well produce five more losses for them.

-- UofL has a relatively easy next six games (FSU, Duke, at Miami, at Clemson. at Syracuse, Miami) and I like their chances of going 6-0

-- League leader NC State will have a tough test against Georgia Tech on Feb 7th and they look the most likely to hang an "L" on the Wolfpack, if anyone can. It is at Reynolds, though, and we all know about how loud it can get in there.

-- Three of the current top four teams are coached by men, five of the bottom seven teams are coached by women. There are five men's head coaches and 10 women's head coaches in the ACC.

-- Trending downward. Wake Forest and Syracuse are on five game losing streaks, Virginia on a seven game losing streak.
