Two Louisville Field Hockey student-athletes and one Volleyball student-athlete took ACC Player of the Week honors for the week!
Senior Mercedes Pastor was named ACC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts in the Cards two games sweep of Virginia. Pastor had three goals and one assist in Louisville's 5-2 and 2-1 wins over the Cavaliers in Charlottesville. It's the third ACC Offensive Player of the Week honor for Pastor this season
Senior Alli Bitting took ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for her role in the Cards wins. She was part of a strong Louisville defense that held Virginia to just three goals in the two games. It's her first Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.
Louisville Field Hockey is 7-0 on the fall action and has gained at least a share of the regular season championship. The Cards close out the Fall regular season Friday at Syracuse and then head into ACC Tournament play November 5th in Durham, NC.
Freshman Anna DeBeer Louisville Assumption) was awarded ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week for her efforts against Pittsburgh. DeBeer had a team-high 22 kills in the Cards four-game victory over the Panthers on Sunday. She also had seven kills in the Friday outing at Pitt, tying her for team high with Claire Chaussee and Aiko Jones.
The Volleyball Cards end the fall slate of games with a 5-2 record., which ties them for third in the ACC standings. The ACC does not have a conference tournament in Volleyball.
No schedules have been released yet for spring contests in Field Hockey or Volleyball yet.
