A few thoughts regarding basketball

1. Can the hypocrisy regarding the whole sunshine pumping the conference we play in just end? People make fun of UK fans for parading SEC football (it's stupid) but when basketball season rolls around they do the same thing for ACC basketball (also a bush league thing to do when our team loses games IMO).
2. After letting the Duke loss settle in I think realistically this team has Elite 8 or Sweet 16 potential. I have said it in the past and totally agree with those who say if this team had Nanu we could win the whole thing. I just wish he didn't hate school so much. But alas, he is gone and we will have to rely on good shooting from Donovan and the great passing from the bigs down low to get us through. I loved the effort with I believe 46 points in the paint the other day. All we were missing was hitting our jump shots as others have stated.
3. I got a look at some of the 2017 signees game film and it looks like we have 4 quality guys. Darius Perry is a really athletic and exciting guard, who's team owned UKs incoming PG's team. Malik Williams is possibly the best Big we have recruited since trezl. He plays a different style as a stretch 4 but he also is long enough to block shots and deflections. Lance Thomas and Jordan Nwora are both solid forwards who can shoot the 3 and midrange really well and have the potential to body guys up down low with a little time to bulk up in the weight room (if that's a thing for our basketball program anymore). Ultimately watch out for the cards in 2017. Mitchell is great and we will miss him if he leaves, but we will have 4 guys who can hit 3s as well as he has this year coming in. Prepare for a 2018 final 4.

The SEC has stolen bids for years. Its time it stopped.
The SEC only deserves 2 bids, not the 4 theyll get.

Sweet 16 or elite 8 is nothing to scoff at. Just don't see a championship in this team at the moment.

If you weren't a uofk fan youd admit it. Take off the blew blinders.

Not sure how you don't think this is gonna be a good freshmen group. I get that pitino doesn't play freshmen, but that doesn't mean they can't contribute. And the difference between Nanu and the bigs we have currently outside of Mangok is physical strength. Nanu would not have let Bam Adebayo back him under the rim and dunk once let alone 3 times. Anas is a decent post player as is Mangok but Mangok goes through bad stretches and Anas will never be able to body up anybody that's got an ounce of physical strength. Nanu would be pulling down way more rebounds than Anas and probably more than Mangok and ray. And don't even get me started on Matz. Our 5 spot is weak this year.

I agree that we lack leadership but my argument wasn't about points so much as rebounding and defense. I guess I'm biased towards guys who don't get pushed around.

USCjr and Arkansas have zero quality wins. And they each have six losses to freaking SEC teams. How does that deserve anything?

You are freaking hilarious.. on one hand you complain we don't play freshmen and then turn around and say our problem is leadership. Never nervous Pervis is not on this roster. Leadership comes from Snider and Mangok, two players you want benched.
