93.9 The Ville funny funny...

Marques Maybin just went off the air at 6 PM and plugged an LPT postgame show. Since he was simulcasting on 680 and 93.9, I thought he was just pimping for 680. But there it was on 93.9 still simulcasting.

So I called and got in immediately as probably their only caller of the show. I started with "WTH is this show doing on 93.9 The Ville...?" Heard an "OOPS!" over the top of what I was saying and got disconnected right away by the 680 programming.

But hey, at least they got one call.

Nothing serious...

As you know, ESPN 680 plays local sports a little more down the middle, U of L and LPT, even IU. They evidently have a fledgling LPT postgame show hosted by a couple of Beavis and Butthead types. (What I sarcastically call them, and showing my age...) What the hell? Deener & Co. need to make a buck, and we already have our 93.9 station which is worlds better from a signal strength POV.

All weekend they've been simulcasting U of L talk radio. And when Maybin went off the air on all three of their platforms yesterday and LPT B&B started up at around 6 PM, they forgot to switch 93.9 off. I knew that or pretty much guessed, so I called to give them some grief.

One of my favorite pastimes.

It was an honest mistake and not worthy of mentioning to anyone connected with 93.9. After this weekend, I'm pretty sure they know where their future lies...
