Things have been slow on S. Floyd since December 15th. Louisville plugged two holes that day with a corner and a JUCO DE leaving three scholarships remaining for this class. Before you ask, now Corey Reed won't count against that number.
That being said, the staff is prioritizing a grad transfer offensive tackle, and then two of the best available athletes regardless of position but they would prefer an inside linebacker but they aren't sold on one target yet. The grad transfer tackle market is still being evaluated and no name has emerged yet. In the best available athlete target Corey Wren is still the number one guy on the board but I didn't get the feeling Louisville was brimming with confidence about him. I reported that Demon Clowney was a name to watch a week or so back but I think some disenchantment has set in with the staff. I was also told by someone very plugged in down at UCF that he visited there right before December 15th and they told him to "hold off" before signing there. If he wants to sign with Louisville I think they will take him but he's going to need some time to develop before he sees the field. Some people think he's going to sign with Ole Miss but there's a chance they decide not take him so I'm going to hold off on a futurecast at the moment.
There is a very good possibility that Louisville holds their three spots for later on in the cycle to use on grad transfers or late qualifiers from the high school or JUCO ranks. If they don't use all three scholarships this cycle they will roll over to the 2021 class. This class has pretty much filled all of Louisville's needs by position save inside linebacker so I could see them taking a grad transfer OT and just pocketing the other two spots.
