Our best wins away from the Yum center this season are wichita state and syracuse. Every team we have faced with a pulse on the road we have lost to.

That is a hard fact people need to come to terms with.

OUR BEST WINS ON THE ROAD ARE WICHITA STATE AND SYRACUSE.....................

We beat no ranked teams on the road in 2012 when we went to the Final Four. In fact, we only beat one ranked team--freaking Vandy--at home...

Syracuse isn't a great team this season but Duke, Virginia, and Florida State all lost AT Syracuse this season so it's not like they haven't beaten any good teams at home.

None of what's happened matters, it's all about who gets hot when the NCAA Tournament starts. Hopefully we'll be one of those teams.

An unranked ACC team playing at home is no gimme. Pitino's done a good job navigating that minefield this year.

Some of our fans forget that we play in the nation's best conference...

Unless this team turns it around and starts playing with consistency, we are Elite Eight at best. Potentially Sweet Sixteen depending on the matchup.

Can this team make it to the Final Four? Yes.
Can they win it all? Yes.

But the thing is, consistency is the biggest enemy in our path. On any given night, this team can play with anybody in the country.

It's almost to the point where we have too much depth.

Pitino, I have never seen Pitino do what he has done this year. I mean, why was Hicks playing when we were down? Snider comes back in and we're magically down 3 and then 1.

Sometimes we see McMahon and Levitch, then it's multiple games we dont.

In order for this team to be get there to the FF or Title, Pitino is going to have to stop using 10-11 players and allow 7-9 to play together and actually get in rhythm with each other. Guys are so out of sync because one minute someone else is in, makes ONE mistake, and then bam, subbed out.

Sometimes I think Pitino is honestly prepping this team for next year.

I'll make my further judgement after the ACCTourney where we stand. But win on Saturday and make it past the Quarters in ACCT and we're 2 seed no doubt I feel.

Good points. Pitino usually does shorten the rotation down late in the season and definitely in the post season. I can't remember exactly when he typically does that though if it is during the regular season. This team is not dead in the water- at least not yet. I remember thinking the 2012 Final Four team would not be going anywhere after losing Senior Night at home to South Florida and losing the first game of the BET. Was proven wrong though so I'm not ready to call it quits on this season yet- not by a long shot.

I think that's a major key for our success is to shorten the bench and allow the guys to get rhythm before the tourney's start. Could see it on saturday. That would be good.

And the 10-11 rotation wouldn't be so bad if it didnt feel like sometimes it's completely random.

making the bench short has resulted in all of our losses

And i think it's because they arent in sync with each other. U see a lot of 1-2 pass possessions or less because this team hasnt been able to feed off of each other at all.

Again , 1 mistake and they're pulled. How can a team ever get into rhythm.

Every now and then this team passes really good, which shows that they are gaining that rhythm, then all of the sudden basically the whole lineup is change for an extended amount of time

this does not aply to mangok or Deng no matter how bad they are abused on the defensive end or how bad they turn the ball over on the offensive end.

Mangok is a 6th year senior and cant catch a bounce pass.
Adel is a college basketball player that cant dribble a basketball, but neither can do wrong enough to sit on the bench.

Pitino makes in-game substitutions based on errors of OMISSION, such as failure to defend, rotate, or block out on rebounds. When you see a missed shot or an errant pass and associate that with a substitution, you don't know what you're talking about.

When you guys start to analyze Pitino's decisions on that basis, feel free to post that analysis. What you're posting now is a waste of effort...

The comparison between the 2012 team and the 2017 team is not a good one when it comes to defense and grit. Even Pitino said this team still can't execute his defensive plan without him having to tell them when to switch defenses.

Curious as to how yals conference schedule compares to the rest of the conference. I know Georgia had the toughest in the sec playing all the best teams twice

Pitino is very concerned about this team's defense despite its lofty defensive rankings. Perhaps we should heed his concerns. In addition it seems like this team struggles to maintain intensity.

The coaching brilliance of Kevin Stallings.

Pitino's recent comments about our inability to play defense the way he wants are couched more in the rule change(s) and what a defender can no longer do with his body and hands. IOW it's not as much an indictment of OUR team specifically.

I think he's come to realize that what we're getting--blow-bys on defense and layups--he's going to continue to see. And you have to respond in two ways... One, he's already done by recruiting rim protectors. The second is execute those blow-bys yourself, drive the ball to the basket.

Moving your feet and rotating on defense--"team defense"--is where we're probably the most deficient. But Pitino's resigned to the fact that clamping down one-on-one on the dribbler is simply gonna put the other guy on the foul line and your guy out of the game...

The comparison is not between teams. It's between THAT team's performance during the regular season and postseason. And corresponding predictions about THIS team...
