Basketball season is starting and there seems to be a hush over the crowd. Let's put all the outside distractions aside and predict what we feel this team will accomplish during the regular season, within the ACC and the post season.

We have some tough games. @ Michigan State, @ Kentucky, @ N State. What about this stretch of games: North Carolina, Boston Collage, @ Duke, @ Notre Dame, Syracuse, Duke, @ Pittsburgh and @ Miami.

I'm in the camp that believes Louisville has one of the 5 best teams in Pitino's time at UofL, and that's high praise. Like you already pointed out though, this conference slate with the games on the road at MSU and UK could leave us with a very good team that potentially has 10 losses.

I could see a prediction for 5-10 losses and buy a case for it.

I could see us having a season like last year with the record and ending up being anywhere from a 3-6 seed.
With this much youth I exepct us to take lumps, especially with the road schedule we have. We really need to take care of business at home.

So much potential and upside with this team. I expect another championship in the next 2-3 years. Just a matter of when.

I must be honest, while I was cheering for and defending last years team (including Chris Jones) they were not my favorite group. This years team is so likeable. Seems like they already have chemistry. That alone will make me enjoy this year over last, even if they have the same regular season record. I cannot wait to see what these kids do.

GO CARDS!

The Cards are very young with ten freshmen and sophomores. Plus, you take into consideration that the only players returning with playing time, Onuaku 18.7, Mathiang 17.4 and Snider with 12.9 mpg, did not really play that much.

Hopefully, Lee and Lewis can provide some leadership and have a calming effect on the young kids. Coach has a job ahead of him.

I agree, there were aspects of last year's team that rubbed me the wrong way but it worked out. Too much one on one. Hope this young group plays more team ball.

Louisville has nice young players to build upon, I'm really a big fan of the Spalding kid and Adel, who will be very good for you guys...as for are game at Rupp, I really look forward to the skal and mathiang match up and also see how my cats can handle a good press with all of our ball handlers on the court!!!

I think we are a 10 loss team that will be a mixed bag.

This team is going to really struggle to score. We will miss Harrell's shooting % and motor. It's a lot of new pieces just kind of thrown together.

I suspect we'll be playing well late in the year and won't be a team an "over achieving" high seed would want to see in the 2nd round if we can do what we need to do to get there.

This team will probaly lose some games that we didn't expect to lose. Alot of work is needed . I'm still not sold on Johnson .

I'm not holding my breath for this crew...double digit losses are a coming.

Not that I'm overly upset, and I'll be really happy to be wrong...but 20 wins may be our ceiling.

I'm sticking with my 25-6 record. College basketball across the board is down.

There was a purpose to all of the substitutions. CRP is trying to find the right combinations at certain times during the games. My observations are Snider needs to be on the floor because he seems to be the only one comfortable as a playmaker (assists) but he tends to want to be a scorer. So far snider and Lewis have not played great together but hard to fathom that Lewis won't be in there.

I just don't think that mango and onuaku will play at the same time unless we really need to go big. Mango is probably more defensive minded and a better leader whereas onuaku is making progress on his offensive skills but still fouls a lot.

That just doesn't leave a lot of opportunity for adel, Johnson, Spaulding, Mitchell and Mahmoud, especially when Levitch seems to bring the energy either offensively or defensively when the team needs a spark. Johnson has a knack for getting rebounds and garbage points. Spaulding gets his hands on a lot of balls and adel can be a slasher/scorer.

Jaylen Johnson reminds me of Nate Johnson. He gobbled up a bunch of garbage points around the basket. I can't see how we don't have 8-10 losses with maybe more. If the two new main guys get it going and we get good big play maybe 23-8 I hope............4-5 seed.

There are a number of factors going into this season that will impact how this season plays out....most notably what happens with the NCAA investigation and how much of distraction it is to Rick and the team and what impact the investigation has on Rick's future here.

I say 11-2 in the regular season and 10-8 in the ACC....21-10.

By the way, what was the score of last evening's bb game with KY. Wes? Thank you. A
fan from down in Western KY.

Love the depth of good players this team has and the intrigue of a pressing team like the Cards within the context of a shorter shot clock might be a better tool for victory in the tourney rather than the stacked ACC. I can tell you without a doubt that Pitino will figure it out by March. Last year to think 1 damn 2' bunny kept the Cards out of the F4 is amazing really! L1C4
