It doesn't matter. It's still the 2013 championship and it belongs to UofL. The difference is it can't be called the 2013 NCAA championship because the NCAA stripped UofL's name from their records.

Considering the NCAA's power and prestige is tainted with its own level of corruption and its own time is limited, I personally don't give a flip about their records. They'll all be a thing of the past soon enough.

My shirt will say something like...

"Hey Vince, where did you put our banners?"

"Hey Pitino, where did our banners go"

Obsess much?
Good stuff...you think I'm the only fan interested in those banners???

If Pitino and others were still here, those banners would still be hanging...

He’s saying Rick and Tom would have taken them to court. We probably would have lost them after that but we’d have them for at least another year. Dragging out the Katina saga wasn’t worth it IMO. Athletic department made the right decision.

Not true. It would have been 50-50 on a court verdict. And 90% of civil cases get settled. The NCAA couldn't afford to LOSE that verdict, and Jurich was not settling with those banners coming down. I also think most fans would have supported that legal action.

You lost the banners because the clown show wanted you to lose them. It serves their interests.

It makes no sense for them to want the banners to go down. That causes you to lose fan support. They didn’t want to take the gamble. 90% of civil cases aren’t quarrels about records with the NCAA. We are in a much more dire financial situation than the NCAA. They have money to blow. We were bleeding money. The amount of money the NCAA would lose would be a drop in the bucket to them, so they would have gladly taken us for more after we paid their legal fees. There is no precedent that said we would win the case. So it’s too much risk. That is the only logic for making that decision.

The clown show is fighting one lawsuit and threatened with a second motivating them to show that the OLD regime was as bad as possible. It's a nice piece of evidence in a breach of contract/wrongful discharge suit to say that Jurich and Pitino cost us an NCAA championship. The clowns are delusional enough to believe that a majority of fans are already supporting them.

I'm also not sure how much better shape the NCAA is in than we are. Their very survival is in question. And we've evidently got enough money for legal expenses to sue Ramsey, so that boat don't float too well...

I think they want to diminish Louisville basketball as much as possible so they can gain support for the NBA. That would give them more rent money for the Yum.

Every card fan should wear 2013 National Champions gear to every game next year.

I went to the NCAAT first round games in Pittsburgh, and I wore my 2013 CUT THE NET shirt. Got a few L's from other Louisville fans there. The removal of the physical banner really sucks but everyone knows who won that game. During the tournament this year, the announcers talked about Luke's 3's, etc.

The lawsuits you’re talking about aren’t offensive lawsuits. Rick brought that suit against them. The Ramsey suit is ill-advised, but it doesn’t really bring negative national attention to the university. Also, they waited a significant amount of time to bring that suit, so it wasn’t as knee-jerk as suing the NCAA would have been. Maybe they will go back on their word and sue the NCAA if it seems like we have a case. I’d love the banner back. It will take a strong case, and some courage. Neither of which we have, but better to be cautious than courageously throw your money away IMO.

I just woke up from a coma.....tell me just who in the heck is responsible party for UofL's problems? Anyone?

For the probation? For the striping (pun intended) of the NC banner? And reduction in wins? Who the heck was in the position(s) of authority when all of this bad behavior was going on?

So sick of the bickering going on....the 'not me' kid in the house or the one late to the party must be the one(s) to blame. Geez. Accountability be damned.

I’ll be damned, Zipp is like our very own Matlock! Every legal person I heard speaking of potentially suing the NCAA felt strongly that it would be a waste of time and money. I’m glad that Matlock is setting things straight!

And no one thinks that suit has a chance. Furthermore what some group of fans is doing is different than your assertion that the university should sue and that they would have a “50/50” chance of succeeding. Try again.

"Every legal person" doesn't leave you a lotta wiggle room.

My experience is that idiots overuse superlatives. A knucklehead would qualify...

No they wouldnt and you know it. They had 60 days or so to take everything down. They’d all be down right now. They’d follow the rules if they lost the case.

You ain't listening... Pitino was yapping "sue" immediately when the news broke on the appeal. And those banners would still be hanging pending a lawsuit. The clown show took them down.

More specifically, it was the fanboy AD who needed about 60 MINUTES to get them taken down. Thank this guy for quick action...

Both ways?

If your point is the new administration wouldn't file suit to protect the banners, you and zippster are 100% in agreement...

“Hey Tom How Much Did You Pay Smrt?”
Smrt wasn't the problem... It was Ramsey letting Smrt call the shots. Smrt's an idiot, but he was the right guy for the NCAA to see conducting the investigation.

It's the idiots we have here NOW who are continuing to employ this guy. Thanks for bringing that up...
