We will have a good idea today what our next 3-5 years as a program looks like. Fingers crossed.

Not what i was expecting as far as the info . But i see the NCAA is bascially saying screw your arguments we going to still f**k you over in the end. And we continue this BS still over our heads into the spring 2021 geez.

Nothing in today’s release is surprising nor is there any good news for UofL. The prosecution basically said they disagree with all the arguments put forth by the defense. Just one step closer to our penalties being levied. I really think this ends with us getting a two year post season ban.

Enjoy what little season we have with this team we always get the short straw. Just makes Macks job even harder going forward trying to get recruits the coaches are going to eat this up.

So, nothing has really changed. UofL has their defense that they're sticking with. The NCAA has their accusations they are sticking with. On to the hearing, whenever that is, then likely an appeal. More waiting for closure. Hell, we'll probably break more rules before all this is wrapped up. ;)

Into the real court system we go and screw the NCAA system. So it will continue on for quite some time now. Fight them all the way.
I don’t know, part of me wants this over. I think that’s what the NCAA wants. Take you medicine. I feel for young guys on this team. None of this has anything to do with them.

It's too late for denial. If we truly believed that we did not commit NCAA violations, Jurich and Pitino (at least) would still be UofL employees.

The most problematic part in all of this to me is the continuing relationship we have with Adidas. How could anyone really believe that we think we were victimized by Adidas' actions when they are still our shoe and apparel company?

I don't agree with their decisions toward UofL, but I believe the NCAA is going to hit us hard. They need to show outsiders that the NCAA is in charge and will severely punish any perceived rules violations.

The fact that we're still winning at a high level right now isn't in our favor for this case. The optics are that the NCAA either didn't punish us hard enough the first time, or that NCAA punishments don't work.

In short we're making the NCAA look bad by not being terrible.

Look for the NCAA to do a lot toward trying to change the optics.

I too want it over BUT we went over and beyond firing and replacing folks. How does it make any sense to continually punish those years later that have NOTHING to do with the situation.

The NCAA is not consistent with punishment and what did they do to get to the bottom of PFP, when it was so obvious to everyone and their brother, that many schools were doing PFP for years before the FBI got involved. The NCAA is as crooked as the FBI and other so called law organizations. I'm very discouraged with double standards in the powers that be. The NCAA hand was probably in the cookie jar too before they got mud on their face.

An interesting point. Typically if a “booster” is implicated then the university has to disassociate with said booster. Will this apply to Adidas?

Yes, Pushup it pi$$es me off that we are still taking money from Adidas. I refuse to buy Adidas anything and I donated all my Adidas UofL clothing that was in my closet to charity. I should have burned it.

I don't agree with any of their treatment of us, but I try to understand the enemy...

The argument they would make is that if they only punish the individuals that violated the rules, it sets up an institutionalized corruption where schools cheat as hard as they want, then all they have to do is fire/dismiss rule breakers and that's the end of it.

The joke or irony here is that institutional corruption is rampant throughout the organization anyway. But at least they can provide the false perception of punishing rule breakers to outsiders so they can maintain their control.

I don't know that the NCAA will require that as part of their sanctions against UofL, but the decision by Tyra and the UofL board to remain aligned with Adidas is my biggest criticism of their decision making at this point. It completely undermines any attempt by UofL to claim that Adidas victimized the school by attempting to pay Bowen.

U of L has a 160 million dollar contract with Adidas corporation . Not Gatto or Code two proven rogue employees of a arm of the company whom also brokered deal 's under the table of their employers nose. In no way are they representing Adidas as a whole. In which the hypocrite NCAA even knows this. Which is on record .And refuses to relent of this very fact that U of L is stating such.

U of L has no reason to cut ties for such a lucrative deal and i'm sure just like any contract you break it your going to owe and we can't afford that. let alone go where? Nike and be on a lower food chain . Besides the dirt has been done so why would you give up a great deal when your going to get punished. anyway. And to be honest U of L is lucky Adidas didn't drop us for Ricks actions. But they understand it's about business and that would not have been a smart move either. Business over emotion!!!!!!

"It ain't personal it's just business"

With all the things we did internally to self penalize and the punishments we have already received what they want now seems excessive. I am going to play the conspiracy advocate here. Is there other things going on here? Is some institution or corporation pushing for hard penalties on Louisville than what are warranted ? When I look at other programs who have done and received less it just makes you wonder.

U of L is in such a precarious spot if they go this new irap or whatever it's called. They have no recourse from whatever is handed down and it seems to be not good. If they go the old route at least theirs an appeal option which right now reading the climate we would need it after probably getting heavy handed penalized. But i think the fan base as a whole wants this crap to be over and not dragged out anymore.

Tyra and U of L admin has a big decision ahead of them.

Unfortunately the problem with that is all of the penalty handed down was because of the Ugly Ho's Scandal alone. Louisville was on probation when the Bowen stuff happened. It is not going to be good, it can't be.

Fight it to the very end. The university has nothing to loose. The powers caved in once. Screw the NCAA. So what if it’s not over till this summer. I will never be ok with rolling over. North Carolina was guilty and they pushed back. Don’t make it any easier on those slugs.

The good thing Kansas will be up for punishment months before us . So that gives U of L a slight look into what they should do. As Crawford wrote their will be a hearing within the coming months. So if those are like any other legal meetings . Thats were plea deals are migated most often.

I'd say slight look is accurate. Louisville was on probation and Kansas was not.

I don’t think they care about what penalty a school commits they don’t hand down punishments equally. It is something that has become noticeable to a lot of schools. I wonder with Pitino contesting that he was not coach #2 what that does to their case. If he was not coach #2 then the case by the NCAA is weakened.

Also: Kansas did nothing in response to the allegations, while Louisville cleaned house. You never know with the NCAA, but you'd like to think UofL's proactive response would earn some leniency. Even the report that was released last week, which was admittedly the prosecution's viewpoint, acknowledged that UofL fired the basketball coach and AD.

I hope you are right. After taking down the banner, I struggle to be at all optimistic since we were on probation for the thing that they took the banner down for. Again I hope I'm wrong and will gladly eat crow if I am.

Our biggest problem is that we were on probation. Repeat offender. If you look at the penalty matrix, that carries special weight in the negative.

To me it seems like self-imposing anything is sort of like trading your old vehicle in for a new one - you're giving them your car for free while they sell you theirs. Louisville could have self-imposed a 10 year ban and fired everyone down the janitor and the NCAA would still send down huge penalties to tack onto the end of the self-imposed ones.
