I guess Petrino was on the hot seat.

Sorry you guys are having a rough year. I did come here before the season asking if Petrino was on the hot seat because I don’t like him. I harbor no ill will to Louisville or anyone here. Just Petrino.

I hope you hire a good coach and turn things around next year. May I suggest Jeff Brohm. He’s a really good coach and a good person as far as I can tell. I don’t like him at Purdue because they’re a division rival of my wildcats and I hope Purdue sucks... except for the rest of the year. Beat Iowa.

Bobby in the ACC

Some on here have pointed to the relative "success" of Bobby Petrino in the ACC. I'm not sure I agree. At all! It's getting worse and worse. To use Zipp's favorite expression (out of context), it's a "dumpster fire". Here is Petrino's entire record while coaching the Cards in the ACC. Which is of course Louisville's entire experience in the ACC.

2018: 0-5

2017: 4-4

2016: 7-1

2015: 5-3

2014: 5-3

Altogether: 21-16

Last 3 Seasons: 11-10

First 2 Seasons: 10-6

WBB gets verbal from Japanese high schooler

Jeff Walz received a verbal commitment from Narika Konno yesterday. A 5'10" guard, she was on the silver medal Japanese 2018 3X3 squad and on both the 2018 U18 and U 23 squads. She's said to have a great mid-range game, exceptional ball-handling skills and can create off-the-dribble. She's the third player for the class of 2019. Louisville still in the hunt for several others, including #2 ranked point guard Zia Cooke out of Toledo, OH. All four UofL coaches attended Zia's practice in Toledo earlier this week.

Is there ANY positives?

Ok, the only positive I can come up with from this season are the special teams, (ie punt returns) and the punting and FG units. That is IT!

I am sorry, but this defense under VanGorder is literally THE worst D I have ever seen UL put on the field. Ever. And it is, IMHO, because the kids have NO idea what they are doing. They have talent, but they are never in the right play, scheme or even position to make a play. And that is ALL on VanGorder. He is awful.
