What is the worth of this guaranteed deal?

It has been a true waiting game this summer for “Russdiculous.”

Russ was guaranteed $150,000 if not waived before July 15th, 2015. He made it through that deadline, but there was a second cut date of July 25th, 2015 for him and his contract. Since he made it beyond the 25th, his deal has officially become fully-guaranteed for next season in the amount of $845,059.

This could easily transition into a bargain contract for the Memphis Grizzlies, especially if the 2015 Orlando Summer League was any indication. The Grizz own a team option on his contract for the 2016-17 season, where Smith would make $980,431 if retained by the team.

Sounds like the Grizz are getting a steal. I sure wouldn't complain with $900k to play ball :D

The NBA pays their employees every 2 weeks 26 times a year. That comes out to roughly $32,500 per pay period before taxes. Not bad.
