Hopefully now some of our fans who have been on the roller coaster of recruiting and questioning every move, with a sky is falling attitude for every recruit that commits elsewhere can exhale. It’s at times become almost unbearable with a few.

Few things. CM got THE GUY he wanted. Keep in mind, the portal and GT market has changed recruiting dramatically, at a rapid pace. With GT, if the guy can even remotely play, he’s getting a phone call. It’s just like recruiting HS kids. You reach out because you have to in order to remain relevant. You never know when you might need them. From the player side, it’s their 2nd go around with the recruiting cycle. For some at smaller schools, they might not have experienced it the 1st time. They’re living it up. These lists of schools aren’t always accurate. They float schools to market themselves.

What does that mean? Well, some of these “GT” that “eliminated” us, didn’t have a shot, or weren’t a true “take” to begin with. Between boards and twitter, you had fans saying we missed on 6-7 guys in the last week. We missed on 1, and he crossed us off because of Jones, Scrubb, and what’s coming back. He wasn’t trying to go somewhere and get 15-20 mins. And you shouldn’t blame a GT for that.

As for Jones, it’s not just about skill. It’s personality. He’s the type of guy that CM wants to have 8 of in terms of mindset. He will immediately make our team tougher. You’ll also see in a few of the FR next year, our team will become different than any team we’ve seen over the last 10 years. Maybe going back to the Ellis 05 team where we really had an enforcer type personality.

I think we may take 1 more GT if it’s the RIGHT fit, otherwise, we may hold as is. I think Scrubb will be here, and if so, we’re a top 6/7 team.
