The University of Louisville basketball staff has started to get involved with more top prospects from the Class of 2017, including two of the top players in the state of Indiana.

Southport, Ind., guard Paul Scruggs and Indianapolis North Central forward Kris Wilkes both confirmed the Cardinals' and assistant coach Kenny Johnson have been in contact and are in the mix.

"Coach Johnson said they are watching me and are going to be recruiting me hard," Scruggs said, noting that Johnson had started recruiting him when he was an assistant at Indiana.
Scuggs said he's hearing the most from Illinois, Kansas, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Xavier and Wake Forest, while he added Kentucky but the Wildcats are the only school mentioned that haven't offered him a scholarship.

The 6-foot-4 Scruggs is ranked as the No. 30 player and No. 4 shooting guard in the Class of 2017 by Scout.com.
The 6-foot-7 Wilkes is hearing the most from Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Xavier, Butler and Kansas, while his play this week at the Under Armour Association Finals is likely to draw even more interest.

Wilkes is ranked as the No. 17 player in the '17 class, while he checks in as the No. 3 small forward.
