V.J. KING - committed to U of L

Size: 6-6, 190. Scout.com national rank: 19. AAU team: Team Takeover (Nike).

King moved from Ohio to the D.C. area and plays for U of L assistant Kenny Johnson's old AAU program, Team Takeover, and at Paul VI High, where Johnson was an assistant coach. So, there are two connections. He is a scoring wing who rebounds and defends well, and he is working as a recruiter on 2017 guard D.J. Harvey and several 2016 guys.

TERRANCE FERGUSON

Size: 6-6, 185. Scout.com national rank: 18. Has U of L offered? Yes. Unofficial visit: Dec. 2. Also considering: Baylor, Kansas, Arizona, Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and many others. AAU team: MWA Elite (Under Armour).

Ferguson is a big-time shooter with nice athleticism and size to match, but he's working this summer on improving his ball-handling and driving, which will help him expand his offensive game. Even with King's commitment, Ferguson is high on Louisville's priority list because he is a sharpshooting, tall guard who seems more likely to play the 2 in college, while King is a 3.

JOSH JACKSON

Size: 6-7, 185. Scout.com national rank: 2. Has U of L offered? Yes. Also considering: Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky and others. AAU team: 1 Nation (Under Armour).

Landing Jackson would be a big-time accomplishment for Louisville because he may end up being the top prospect in the 2016 class. He has tantalizing athleticism and has great size for a small forward, wing-type. He is a streaky shooter, but that doesn't come close to weighing down his potential, which is obviously through the roof. Jackson's recruitment is pretty hard to clarify at this point, but U of L is in his top nine o schools.

RAWLE ALKINS

Size: 6-4, 200. Scout.com national rank: 21. Has U of L offered? Yes. Also considering: Kansas, Kentucky, UNC, Indiana, St. John's, NC State, Maryland, UNLV and Texas. AAU team: NY Rens (adidas).

A physical, confident wing, Alkins is at his best with the ball in his hands, creating off the dribble. He goes right at defenders and looks to create. He has a fun personality, which fits him well as a New York City kid. Alkins doesn't expect to make any decisions before the spring of his senior year, which means this will be one of the longer processes in this class. He recently trimmed his list of schools to 10 and included U of L.

BRANDON ROBINSON

Size: 6-5, 170. Scout.com national rank: 68. Has U of L offered? Yes. Also considering: Florida, FSU, Georgia Tech, Miami, Maryland and others. AAU team: Georgia Stars (Nike).

A new offer in late July, Louisville has entered the mix for Robinson, a tall, wiry guard who can play multiple spots on the floor. He is athletic and a strong defensive talent, and has emerged as a scorer this summer. Seems like a prospect on the rise.

STRETCH FOURS

DEWAN HUELL

Size: 6-9, 200. Scout.com national rank: 23. Has U of L offered? Yes. Also considering: Florida, FSU, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Notre Dame, South Carolina, UNC and USF. AAU team: Team Breakdown (Under Armour).

Huell is an intriguing prospect as a 4. He can hit a mid-range jumper. He is really fun to watch in transition. He blocks shots and dunks with power. He wants to get stronger and add some skills to his game, particularly handling and passing, but Huell clearly has a ton of potential. The Florida schools may have the inside track for him.

JAVIN DELAURIER

Size: 6-9, 205. Scout.com national rank: 36. Has U of L offered? Yes. Unofficial visit: June 28. Also considering: Princeton, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Texas, Wake Forest, many others. AAU team: Team Loaded VA (adidas).

He is much like the other stretch fours that Louisville is looking at. DeLaurier is a shot blocker who is super athletic. His unofficial visit to U of L on June 28, and he is worth adding to the list now. He averages 13.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks a game on the AAU circuit.

POST MEN

EDRICE ADEBAYO

Size: 6-9, 230. Scout.com national rank: 12. Has U of L offered? Yes. Also considering: East Carolina, Kansas, Maryland, Memphis, NC State, UNC, Wake Forest and West Virginia, among others. AAU team: Team Loaded (adidas).

Adebayo's nickname, Bam, couldn't be more fitting. The guy can be a monster inside. He is a force on both ends of the floor. He won't consistently score from post-ups, but he'll do just about everything else in and around the paint. He is AAU teammates with Dennis Smith Jr., which makes for a fun duo to watch. His recruitment is wide open at this point, because he isn't directly dealing with college coaches.
